4. Community Forum The Commissioners Court invites persons with comments or observations related to County issues, projects, and policies to briefly address the Court for the limited purpose of determining whether the matter should be referred to staff for study and response and/or be placed on a future meeting agenda. Anyone speaking during the Community Forum should first identify themselves by their first and last names for the public record. There is a 3-minute time limit, and large groups interested in the same topic should select a spokesperson. State law prohibits the Court from deliberating on any item not listed on the posted agenda. (JDC)

9. Receive and discuss FY27 Wise County Preliminary Budget. As prepared by County Judge and Auditor. Take necessary action. (JDC) (AM)
10. Propose FY27 property tax rates in Wise County for Wise County and FMLR to fund FY27 budget. Take necessary action. (JDC)
11. Propose FY27 property tax rate in Wise County for the Wise County Weatherford College Branch Campus Maintenance Tax to fund FY27 budget. Take necessary action. (JDC)
12. Discuss public hearing date and time for proposed FY27 budget and tax rates. Take necessary action. (JDC)
13. Discuss and designating day of the week on which court will convene in a regular term each month during FY27. Take necessary action. (JDC)
14. Discuss and consider passage of County Resolution FY27-01. Being a resolution for assurance of timely payments for Wise County Claims payment accountability. Take necessary action. (AM)
15. Consider and act on authorizing County Treasurer to publish annual notice of proposed FY27 Elected Officials’ salaries. (JDC)
16. Consider accepting donations of personal property and/or various revenues to County (if any). Take necessary action. (KH)
17. Discuss and consider construction, initiation and/or approval of bids, purchases, awards, and cancellation notices. (ii) specifications pursuant to advertising for bids on one or several different items and/or services for purchase (or sale of items); (ii) purchase of specific items; (iii) consider awarding bids and (iv) consider giving notice of cancellation(s) as/if necessary. 18. Discuss for approval: a. Minutes b. Department Head Reports c. Budget Amendments d. Capital Expenditure Plan e. Claims & Payroll f. Utility Permits/Right of Way g. Interlocal Agreements/Contracts Take necessary and/or appropriate action.
19. Consider approval of Roadway and/or Construction joint venture Project Agreements. between various Wise County Precincts and other local Wise County governmental entities, as provided for under Texas Government Code 791 and subsection 791.014. Take appropriate and necessary action. (JDC)
20. Discuss Hazard Mitigation Plan and related grant projects. Take necessary action. (CP)
21. Consider approval of Commissioners’ requests for necessary access onto private property. Consider approval of Commissioners’ requests (if any) for necessary access to enter onto private property so as to clean/clear certain named County road right-of-way areas for improved public safety and/or public transportation safety purposes; such requests as provided for under Transportation Code Chapter 251 (all being in compliance with Texas Constitution Article III – Section 52) Take necessary and/or appropriate action. (JDC)
22. Discuss and consider current status of Weather/Ground/Vegetation conditions for Burn Ban update purposes and for Burn Ban renewal, amendment, revisions, or rescind considerations. Hear reports from Fire Marshal/EMC in regards to recent County fires, State of Texas Reports and neighboring counties’ conditions. Hear Burn Ban recommendations and/or Red Flag Day Reports. Take appropriate action. (JD)
24. Announce next regular meeting as being August 24, 2026.
